Tent Camping in Wisconsin
Rock Island State Park
Located off the tip of scenic and famed Door County, camping on Rock Island requires a ferry ride from the mainland Washington Island, and then another ferry ride from Washington to Rock Island. Great tent camping is available on both the Green Bay and Lake Michigan sides of the island. The ferry to Washington Island carries vehicles, but they must be left behind at Washington Island and cannot be taken to Rock Island for a camping trip.
Mirror Lake State Park
Mirro Lake State Park is perfect for beautiful lake camping in Wisconsin and located conveniently off of main travel corridor Interstate 90-94. Obviously, the park’s main attractions is Mirror Lake. In the park, campers can rent rowboats, pontoon boats, paddle-boards, kayaks and canoes for use on the lake. The bonus of Mirror Lake is that is a no-wake lake, so the absence of high-pitched motors is music to the ears of campers.
